As the saying goes, "necessity is the mother of invention", and our case was no different. Back in 2018, we encountered a problem after renovating our home -- we were left with massive piles of torn-out carpet, old furniture, and a broken washing machine that we needed to get rid of. We couldn't afford traditional junk removal rates, and we both owned sedans at the time. While walking our dog within our neighborhood, we passed several trucks parked in driveways, but we had no way of knowing if they were willing and able to help haul our junk for some cash. We wondered to ourselves, "why doesn't an app exist to help bridge that gap?" At that moment, the idea for RollUp was born. Fast forward to 2023, and our team has grown from just the two of us to a team of 11 members, all working to make the RollUp app a reality.
